Nottingham Forest jumped out to an early lead with a Joe Lolley goal in the 19th minute but in the end succumbed to Norwich City’s raking attacks in a 2-1 loss at Carrow Road. Forest is winless in its first three matches in the Championship under its new manager.
Forest played Ben Watson as a defensive midfielder in an anticipation of Norwich’s attack, forgoing their usual 4-2-3-1 formation. Nevertheless, the Canaries still managed to assault the Forest goal at will with 19 shots, 8 on target.
Next up for Forest is Birmingham City home at the City Ground.
“The fixture computer wasn’t kind to us early in the season, but that’s no excuse. We need to start winning matches.”
